Digital Technology is a fast changing environment and an increasingly critical part of how society functions.
The junior Digital programmes have evolved to build skill and understanding of programming processes through the use of such applications as ‘Scratch’ and Mindstorm software to interface with Lego robotics, covering the fundamentals of programming using a visual interface to support understanding of writing code.
The half-year semester options at Year 9 offer Animation for the web and Digital Image technologies, generating fantastic examples of web pages/sites and animated learning objects in a variety of subjects far beyond their expectations.
The senior NCEA programmes continue to develop a deeper understanding of programming processes, technology practice and knowledge of systems associated with designing and constructing digital outcomes. At each level students engaged in project-based assignments considering a real client’s needs and users/stakeholder’s requirements.
