40 Seconds of Fame


Here is a few of the things our 2015 leavers have done during their last two years at Marsden (as announced by Principal Jenny Williams at the Leavers' Ball on Saturday 11 December). This is by no means a definitive list of what our girls have done during their school life but a snippet showcasing their many and varied talents and accomplishments. We are very proud of them.

Harriette Dunphy - Harriet has been the Head Girl this year. She attended the Empower students Leadership Conference in Australia and has been a member of the Senior Premier Debating team, a debating coach, a dragon boater, a netball coach and umpire, and a member of the Barbershop group. Harriette has completed her Speech and Drama Associate diploma and her silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award.  She participated in Relay for Life this year and the 2014 and 15 Samoa Service trips.

Sarsha Sivinantham –  Sarsha has been at Marsden since pre-school and has been one of our Deputy Head girls. She attended the Empower students Leadership Conference in Australia, was co-head of Netball, a member of Snr A Netball team, a coach and umpire.  Sarsha was the school pianist, accompanied the yr 7-9 Choir, sang in the Ad Summa Chorale, Altissime, the barbershop group and attending the big sing national finals. She was awarded music colours and completed her Silver Duke of Edinburgh award.  

Ellie Beverley – Ellie has been one of our Deputy Head Girls and attended the Student empower leadership conference in Australia.  She was a peer support leader, a member of 1st X1 Football team, Snr A touch rugby and Co-head of Handball, coaching years 9-13. She gained her Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary award, participated in Dragon boating, choir, stage challenge and West Side Story.  She was involved in helping with relay for life, the soup kitchen and the city mission.

Kate Alderton- Kate has been Head of Houses and a peer support leader. She played 1st XI hockey in 2014, and was a dragon boater. She was the leader of Altissime who were awarded the Big Sing Silver Award. She sang in Ad summa Chorale, the Marsden Quintet and in the barber shop chorus. Kate took part in High School Musical and was awarded cultural colours in 2015. Kate took part in relay for life and collected for Red Cross.

Isabella Antoniadis – Isabella has been at Marsden since Year 1. This year she was deputy head of middle school and a peer support leader.  She played hockey and has been a primary school hockey coach and referee since 2013.  She played lawn Bowls, badminton, and was a member of the Dragon Boating Team.  Isabella sang in the Ad Summa Chorale.  Her service included Relay for Life, volunteering at the soup kitchen, helping at Mary Potter Hospice and participating in the Samoa service trip.

Phoebe Baigent – Phoebe was Deputy Head of upper school.  She played in the Snr A netball team for 3 years, coached and umpired netball and was in Snr A handball team. She rowed for 2 years, including MAADI regattas and participated  in Dragon boating.  She took part in Young Enterprise, was in Relay for life in 2014 and 2015 and assisted at the Somali Refugee Centre teaching English and reading.

Kirstin Baker – Kirstin has been Head of touch rugby and futsal and co-head of football. She was captain of the Snr A touch Rugby team, Co-captain of Snr A Football, and coached both Jnr A Futsal and Football.  She was also a member of the Senior A handball and the dragon boat teams. Kirstin was awarded colours for service to sport. She sang in the Year 13 Choir. Kirstin went on the Fiji service trip, assisted at the soup kitchen, collected for the City Mission and participated in Relay for Life in 2014 and 2015.

Isabella Barbalich-Isabella was the School Sacristan. She was the leader of Stage Challenge and a solo dancer. She took part in High School Musical and was a member of the dragon boating team. Isabella sang in the Ad Summa Chorale and was part of the Kapa Haka group. Her service contributions included collecting for the city mission and the cancer society.  She was participated in the relay for life in 2014 and 2015.

Olivia Bloomfield – Olivia was deputy head of Middle school. She played Senior A tennis and took part in dragon boating. Olivia has completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary award. She attended the Hands on Science Camp at Otago University in 2015 and was a science Peer tutor. She was in stage Challenge, the Barber Shop group and High School Musical. Olivia took part in the 2014 Fiji service trip, volunteered for kids club and assisted at the soup kitchen.

Georgia Brown Georgia has been the House Captain of Baber and a peer support leader.  She was the founder and leader of the Marsden feminist group.  Georgia played Snr A touch rugby and netball.  She assisted with the school mural and went on the Sydney Art trip in 2014.  She has collected for Rape crisis centre, assisted at the second chance clothing sale, volunteered at the soup kitchen and City Mission and took part in Relay for Life.

Mary Buchanan – Mary was Deputy House captain of Swainson Riddiford. She played, Hockey, Badminton, Snr A Bowls and took part in Dragon Boating.  Mary was a member of Ad Summa Chorale and co-head of the stage crew for High School Musical.  Mary went on the Classics trip to Europe, took part in Relay for life in 2014 and 2015 and has volunteered at the soup kitchen and at the refugee homework centre.

Charlotte Burger – Charlotte has been co-head of the Arts committee and was one the school artists.  She played badminton and was in Senior A volleyball, senior A water polo teams and was a Dragon Boater. She has gained grade 6 Piano and grade 8 Speech and Drama.  Charlotte went on the Fiji service trip in 2014 and the Samoa service trip in 2015.  This year she has volunteered at the soup kitchen, the wellington city mission and at the boys and girls institute.

Georgia Burns – Georgia has been at Marsden since pre-school. She has been student Head of the Primary school, was in the first X1 hockey team in 2013 and 2014 and took part in dragon boating. She had a lead role in High School musical, and sang in the barber shop group, the Ad Summa Chorale and Altissime. Georgia has completed her associate diploma in Speech and Drama. Georgia went on the 2015 Samoa service trip, assisted at the soup kitchen and took part in Relay for Life in 2014 and 2015.

Emily Callam – Emily has been the Head of Drama and Deputy House Captain of Johnson. In the Sheilah Winn festival Emily directed one play and acted in two, one of which was performed at the nationals. She received colours for drama, has completed her Speech and drama Diploma, had a lead role in High School Musical and went on the Samoa service trip.  In 2014 she won both the Judges and people’s Choice in the “Welly Film” competition. She also participated in the relay for Life.  

Charlotte Campbell – Charlotte has been the House Captain of Richmond and Head of Junior netball. She played netball for many years, was team captain in 2014 and was Co-captain of Badminton. Charlotte has coached year 9 and 10 netball and participated in Dragon Boating.  She was front of house for the 2015 school production and took part in relay for Life in 2014 and 2015.

Emma Carruthers –Emma was Head of the Science Committee and head of orienteering. She took 3rd place in the 2015 College Sport Wellington senior girls orienteering and was a finalist for the orienteer of the year award, competing at the Oceania Championships in 2015. Emma was awarded colours for orienteering in 2014. She played in the Marsden Symphony for two years and was member of the Wellington Schools symphonic band.

Maggie Burns – Maggie has been at Marsden since pre-school. This year she was student Head of Upper School, Head of Swimming and a Peer Support leader. Maggie is a NZ title holder in swimming. She was awarded swimming colours and is the senior swimming champion. Maggie has been a netball coach and taken part in Dragon Boating.  Maggie was also in the year 13 choir, went on the Samoa service trip, took part in Relay for Life and volunteered at the soup kitchen.

Srimoyee Chakravarty_- Srimoyee has been at Marsden since pre-school.  She has been Deputy House Captain of Baber, Deputy Cultural Captain and co-Head of the Marsden Symphony. She sang in the Barbershop group and the Ad Summa chorale, was awarded colours for music, umpired and coached netball and was one of the choreographers for Stage Challenge.  She went on the Fiji service trip, has volunteered for the past three years at Huntleigh rest home, and this year was awarded her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award.

Lucy Chandler - Lucy has been the Deputy House Captain of Hadfield Beere, Co-head of Hockey and a Peer Support leader. She was Co-Captain of the 1st X1 Hockey team which she has played in since year 9. She has been involved in 1st X1 cricket, handball, tennis and dragon boating. Lucy sang in the Year 13 choir and took part in Stage Challenge. She has volunteered as a tutor at the refugee centre, assisted at the soup kitchen and took part in relay for Life.

Hannah Comans Hannah has been the co- Head of Social Media and co- Head of Rowing. She won the training, persistence and commitment cup in Rowing for two years and was selected to attend Maadi from 2012 to 2014. She took part in Stage Challenge and was involved in lighting for High School Musical. Hannah attended the Zeal Film Academy and took part in a music production course.

Sarah Deng – was Head of the International Students Committee and Head Librarian. She played Senior Badminton and coached for the past three years. She was awarded her Sports Colours in 2014. This year Sarah went to Cambridge University to take part in an economics course. She went on a Toin student exchange, helped with lighting and crew in High School Musical and Stage Challenge and was part of Relay for Life.

Nicole Ding – Nicole was Head of production, Deputy Head Librarian, co-head of social media and oversaw the school Instagram. She played both senior badminton and captained the senor c team in 2015. She played lawn bowls, coming second in the division. Nicole was involved with sound for the 2015 production and was part of the crew for stage challenge and last year’s primary production. Nicole took part in relay for life.

Shenna Dunn - Shenna has been head of the environment committee and head of the equestrian team, leading the team to a 1st and 3rd place at the regional competition. She was one of the choreographers for stage challenge. This year she has been studying grade 8 ballet and advanced level Jazz. She was placed 2nd in the CREST science and technology competition.

Yu Hong Fan – Yu Hong was head of badminton and co-head of the mathematics committee. She was captain of senior A badminton this year and had been in the team for the past two years. She has also coached badminton. Yu Hong has been a member of the school orchestra, was a peer tutor and spent many hours assisting students of all ages with mathematics.

Emma Fulbrook - Emma has been deputy sports captain, Co-Head of Football and Co-Head of Cricket. She has been a member of the Football 1st XI and Cricket 1st XI since 2009. Emma represented New Zealand in world cups for Under 17 football and Under 20 indoor cricket. She is a member of the Wellington Blaze women’s cricket team and also coaches cricket for the school. Emma was the Marsden 2014 sports women of the year and the Marsden 2014 and 2015 all-rounder of the year.

Gaenor Gibbs-Harris – Gaenor has been deputy head of houses and head of the humanitarian committee. She has played hockey, lawn bowls, volley ball and participated in the Sheliah Winn Festival. She has completed her New Zealand’s speech and drama associate’s diploma, achieved grade 8 speech and drama and gained the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award. Gaenor has volunteered at the Wellington central library for the past 4 years, and attended the Global Young Leaders Conference in the United States.

Georgina Glover Georgina was deputy house captain of Swainson Riddiford. She played Senior A touch football, netball for 3 years, badminton, table tennis, volley ball and lawn bowls. Georgina took part in dragon boating, was a cast member of stage challenge in 2014. She participated in relay for life in both her senior years.

Isabel Grubi - Isabel was Deputy Head of Primary School. She has played badminton, volleyball and handball and was a dragon boater in 2014. Isabel sang in the year 13 choir and took part in High School Musical. She went on the 2014 Fiji service trip and took part in relay for life. She also volunteered at the soup kitchen and collected for the Wellington children’s hospital.

Grace Habershon   - Grace has been head of Peer Support and a peer support leader. She participated in rowing for 4 years including rowing at MAADI and was awarded the 2014 Marsden coxswain award. She played Senior A touch, sang in the Ad Summa Chorale and was head of Stage makeup for High School Musical. Grace volunteered at the soup kitchen and the refugee centre, collected for Red Cross and participated in Relay for Life.

Madeline Hayward- Madeline has been Cultural Captain this year. She played senior A waterpolo and senior A underwater hockey. She was co-leader of the year 13 choir, and sang in Altissime, the Ad Summa Chorale and the barbershop quartet. Madeline was leader of the flute ensemble, participated in the Sheliah Winn festival, and completed her speech and drama associate diploma. Madeline has been a tutor at the refugee centre, helped at the soup kitchen and collected for the city mission.

Beatrice Hooper – Beatrice has been the House captain of Jellicoe and on the Principals Maintenance committee. She has played senior A touch, handball, managed a netball team and coached touch rugby and rowing. Beatrice rowed for Marsden at 3 Maadi cups and participated in dragon boating. She sang in the year 13 choir, had a lead role in High School Musical and was involved in stage challenge. Beatrice took part in relay for life and collected for the cancer society.

Eva Johnson – Eva was secretary of Student council and a Librarian.  She completed her Trinity College speech and drama exams with distinction, sang in Ad Summa Chorale and took part in the Sheilah Winn Drama Festival. She competed in stages 1 and 2 of the Model UN Diplomacy event. Eva did the costuming for Stage Challenge which won an award for excellence for Costuming Character. She participated in relay for Life.

Samantha Jordan – Sam has been co-head of the humanitarian committee and a member of the Marsden feminist group. She played lawn bowls and hockey and was in the Year 13 choir. In 2014 she took part in the Engineering camp at Massey University. Sam participated in the classics trip to Europe last year.

Emma Kerr – Emma has been deputy head of school council and a peer support leader. She took part in senior A volley ball, dragon boating, lacrosse, hockey and was a hockey coach. Emma was a Wellington delegate at the Youth Model UN and a Sir Peter Blake young environmental leader’s forum delegate. Emma went on the Samoa service trip, has volunteered at Ronald McDonald house and the city mission. She has completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award.

Dani Lath- Dani has been the School Photographer, head of netball and head of volleyball.  She has been involved in netball for 8 yrs.  Dani was Captain of both Snr A Netball and Snr A volleyball and was awarded colours for service to sport in Netball and Volleyball.  She choreographed the hip hop for stage challenge, went on the Senior Art and design technology trip to Sydney in 2014 and took part in relay for life.

Emily Lyons – Emily has been Sports Captain and Head of Water Polo. She has competed in senior A water polo, swimming, touch rugby, dragon boating, cross-country, football, hand ball and underwater hockey. She was awarded colours for swimming. Emily sang in the Ad Summa Chorale and the Year 13 Choir, and took part in High School Musical and stage challenge. Emily assisted with homework and taught swimming to refugees, volunteered at the soup kitchen and took part in relay for life.

Alex Mair- Alex has been chair of the school council.  She played handball for the NZ U20s team that recently competed in Bulgaria. Alex was vice-captain of Snr A netball and senior A handball.  Alex was a NZ Model UN delegate and a youth UN High School ambassador.  She was a debating adjudicator, a member of Ad Summa chorale and is a member of the Wellington youth development pipe band.  Alex was a homework tutor at the refugee centre, also collecting for the cancer society and Mary Potter Hospice.

Florence Marshall - Florence was Deputy Head of Snr School, deputy house captain of Jellicoe and Co-head of Cricket and Hockey.  She played 1st X1 hockey for 5 years, 1st X1 Cricket for 7 years and co-captained both teams this year. She coached primary hockey for 3 years. She was awarded colours for hockey, cricket and services to sport in both her senior years.  She is a capital regional U18 hockey representative.  Florence was in the year 13 choir, participated in dragon boating and relay for life. She volunteered at the soup kitchen and went on the Fiji service trip.

Holly Miller- Holly has been the Deputy House captain of Richmond. She has played Badminton and netball and assisted back stage with the school production of High School musical. Holly’s volunteer work included, helping at the Somali council homework centre, collecting for the city mission and Mary potter hospice. She assisted at the soup kitchen and took part in relay for life.

Louise Nisbet – Louise has been Deputy Sacristan, head of Dragon Boating and head of production.  She played Senior B Netball and was vice captain of the 2nd X1 Football team.  Louise took part in stage challenge in 2014 and the French choir.  She went on the Fiji service trip in both 2014 and 2015.

Penny O’Brien - Penny has been at Marsden since Year 1. She has been deputy House captain of Johnson, Co-captain of the 3rd XI Hockey team and has taken part in Senior A Lawn Bowls, senior A badminton and dragon boating. Penny sang in the Ad Summa Chorale and was head of the Stage crew for High School Musical. She was in Relay for Life and volunteered at the Cancer society and the Wellington Soup Kitchen. 

Emma O’Keefe - Emma has been head of technical production. She attended the Massey University Engineering/Food and Technology Camp this year. Emma was head of Stage Lighting for our Stage challenge entry last year and was on the school council.  She also assisted with this year’s school production. Emma volunteered at Zeal with stage engineering in 2014 and 2015.

Eleanor Olson-.  Eleanor has been at Marsden since Year 2. She has been head of the design technology committee. She was involved in badminton and dragon boating. Eleanor was the head of costumes for Stage challenge, assisted with costuming for High School Musical and sang in the Ad Summa chorale. She was the Student representative at the 2014 Association of Women in Science Annual Conference and was also a Model UN Diplomacy representative.

Gabrielle Palado._ Gabi has been head of golf in 2014 and 2015, co deputy head of Music and assistant head of the Ad Summa chorale.  She was awarded her golf colours in 2013, 14 and 15 and was the CSW female player of the year in 2015. She was also the Wellington women’s stroke play and match play champion this year. Gabi was a member of Altissime for three years, the barbershop group for two years and played in the guitar group. 

Celeste Pan- Celeste has been the Head of the Languages Committee and Head of International students.  She has played Senior A Lacrosse and sang in the Ad Summa Chorale and the Year 13 choir.  Celeste participated in the Sheliah Winn Shakespeare Drama competition and took part in relay for life. She has volunteered fortnightly at the Soup kitchen for the past two years.

Olivia Pearless- Olivia has been at Marsden since pre-school. She has been Head of the Environment Committee and Head of Lawn Bowls. She played badminton and Lawn Bowls and coached a Primary netball team.  Olivia was a premier A debater, a tournament adjudicator and gained a high achievement award for debating in 2015.  Olivia was a tournament of minds mentor and judge.  She participated in relay for life and achieved her silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary award.

Kiera Quinn – Kiera has been House Captain of Hadfield Beere, Head of Basketball and a peer support leader.  She played in the Snr A basketball team and the 1st X1 Football team. She has also been involved in dragon boating and lawn bowls. Kiera was a debater, participated in Stage Challenge as a dancer and choreographer, and helped paint the school Mural.  She took part in relay for life and tutored at the Refugee Homework Centre. 

Madeleine Reynolds –  Maddy has been head of Senior School, leader of stage challenge and Head of Dance.  She took part in an exchange with Wrekin College in England.  Maddy played netball, Snr A Touch football and was a Dragon boater for 2 years.  She received a young enterprise award in 2014, and choreographed this year’s production of High School Musical.  Maddy volunteered at the Somali homework centre, the soup Kitchen, participated in relay for life and collected for cure kids.

Lucy Robertson – Lucy was Deputy House Captain of Hadfield-Beere and Head of Underwater hockey.  She played under water hockey for 4 years captaining the team for 2. She was awarded colours for UWH.  Lucy was captain of rowing in 2014 and was selected to participate at MAADI for 3 years. She also played Snr B Netball, Snr A touch rugby, badminton and volleyball.  Lucy coached Netball and UWH and took part in relay for life.    

Lavanya Sajwan – Lavanya has been head of the international committee and Head of Lawn Bowls. She was a student council member and a member of the Marsden Feminist group.   Lavanya was in Snr A Badminton for 2 yrs, Snr A lawn bowls, Snr A Basketball and coached the Jnr A team.  She was a member of the Orchestra, the Ad Summa Chorale and the year 13 choir. She also took part in the school production and stage challenge.  Lavanya was in the Sheilah Winn Drama Festival in 2104. 

Gemma Sangalli – Gemma has been Head of the Design technology committee, the school artist and one of the editors of the school Magazine. She has been involved in Marsden Netball for 7 years and coached Volleyball.  Gemma worked on the school mural, was involved in the fashion parade for 7 yrs, went on the Art and Design trip to Sydney and assisted with the set for the school production.  Gemma took part in relay for life in both her senior years.

Jasmine Seidelin – Jasmine has been at Marsden since pre-school. She has been deputy head of upper school, co-head of underwater hockey and a peer support leader.  She was in the UWH Snr A team for 4 years, captaining the team for 2, and coached Jnr UWH. Jasmine played Volleyball, touch Rugby, handball and hockey.  She was awarded colours for service to sport in 2014 and 2015. Jasmine went on the Fiji service trip, has volunteered at the Somali refugee centre, the soup kitchen, the SPCA and participated in relay for life.

Olivia Singleton – Olivia has been student head of the Middle School, leader of the Ad Summa Chorale and co-head of the year 13 choir.  She was a member of the Barbershop Quartet attending Nationals and went to the Big Sing Nationals in 2015. Olivia was awarded the best student composition at Big Sing in 2014. She was the co-winner of the people’s choice and judge’s choice in the film Welly Competition.  Olivia also took part in the Sheilah Winn Shakespearean Drama Festival.

Madeleine Skinner-Evers – Maddie has been a member of the Snr A touch rugby team. She also played table tennis, Badminton and Lawn bowls as well as Netball for 3 years.  Maddie was a Dragon Boater and took part in stage challenge in 2014. She also participated in relay for life.

Lizzie Summers – Lizzie has been at Marsden since pre-school. She has been head of guitar group for three years and head of rock band. She was head of Lacrosse, played in the Senior A team and was awarded colours in 2014.  Lizzie is in the Wellington U18 Lacrosse team and won the MVP in 2014.  Lizzie was runner up in the Swainson Memorial music competition in 2014, a member of the orchestra for many years, Altissime for 3 years and took part in the NZ School of Music Young musicians’ programme.

Monica Summers- Monica was Head of the Science committee and on the Mathematics committee, where she assisted with the maths clinic.  She sang in Altissime for three years and the Barbershop group for two and was in the Year 13 choir.  Monica participated in the trip to China in 2013 and was a host for the Toin exchange.

Nicola Tock – Nicky has been the Deputy House captain of Baber this year and an IT monitor for a number of years. She was a member of the 1st X1 Football team and played Snr A Basketball. She also played Snr A Futsal, Volleyball and Lawn Bowls.  Nicky was a member of the 2014 Stage challenge crew and 2015 Stage production crew for High School Musical. 

Ruth Trow - Ruth has been head of Peer Tutoring and a member of the Marsden feminist group.  She was captain of the 3rd X1 hockey.  Ruth was the 2014 coxswain for the Wellington Masters rowing crew and a volunteer rowing coach.  She was a member of the school production stage crew and took part in stage challenge in 2014. Ruth volunteered for Mary Potter Hospice, Soup kitchen, the Somali Refugee Centre and took part in relay for life in 2014 and 2015.   

Caitlin Veneer Caitlin returned to Marsden this year.  She took part in the Sheilah Winn Shakespearean Drama Festival. Caitlin was also a member of the Ad Summa Chorale and sang in the Year 13 choir.

Shwetha Wevita – Shwetha has been Deputy House Captain of Richmond, assistant head of Barbershop and Deputy Head of Music.  She was in the Barbershop quartet which participated at nationals and with Altissime sang at the Big Sing Nationals. Shwetha completed her associate diploma in Speech and Drama and she took part in the Sheilah Winn nationals where she was awarded most promising actress. Shwetha assisted at the refugee homework centre and went on a Volunteer Projects service trip to Nepal. Celeste, who cannot be with us tonight, is planning to study Linguistics and German. She has had offers from University College in London, Durham University and St Andrews University. She is not here tonight because she is in Sydney attending an interview for entrance to Cambridge University.

Madeline Whyte – Maddie has been at Marsden since pre-school. She was Deputy House Captain of Jellicoe, Head of Music, Head of Debating and leader of barbershop.  She played Snr A handball and was a yr 13 dragon boater.  Maddie sang in Altissime, the Ad Summa Chorale and the Barbershop quartet that went to nationals.  She had a lead Role in the school productions of West Side Story and High School Musical. Maddie was a New Zealand Model UN delegate and achieved Grade 8 piano with merit in 2015.

Rachel Witkowski –Rachel has been the House Captain of Swainson Riddiford. She played in the 1st X1 Hockey team for 3 years, has been a Wellington Athletics representative since year 7 and was awarded colours for Athletics in 2014. She was a choreographer for High School Musical and stage challenge.  Rachel has sang in both the Ad Summa Chorale and the year 13 Choir.

Emily Wood –Emily has been co-head of the mathematics committee and a peer support leader.  She has played netball and hockey.  Emily passed advanced ballet with merit, and gold bar 1 Ballet with distinction.  She achieved her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award and Queens Guide award.  Emily was a Pippin Leader for Girl guides.  In 2014 she was the Wellington Regional Ranger of the year. Emily was in stage Challenge, High School Musical and went on the Samoa Service trip this year.    

Bridget Young – Bridget was co-head of the Orchestra.  She conducted and composed for the Orchestra and sang in the year 13 choir. Bridget played 1st X1 Football for two years, was part of the production crew for High School Musical. She took part in Stage challenge.  Bridget studied speech and drama and violin to grade 8.  She was in the NZ school of Music – young music programme for composition.  Bridget was a German exchange student in 2015 and this year completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Hillary Award.

The three students who were unable to be at the Leavers’ Ball:

Ella Macaskill - Ella has been the House Captain of Johnson, a tutor and a mentor. She played the guitar and was part of the guitar group for many years. She also played in the orchestra. Ella coached netball and was also involved in badminton. Ella took part in the German exchange programme.

Bethany O’Grady - Bethany was a peer support leader and part of the Art committee. She played Lacrosse and represented Marsden at the Western Zone and Wellington zone athletics championships. She was part of the barbershop group. Bethany is very involved in her church youth group and attended an Australasian Youth Group conference this year.

Hannah Ward - Hannah was Treasurer of the School Council and a peer support leader. She has played netball and volleyball and took part in rowing for two years.  She initiated and organised the involvement of senior students at the Refugee Homework Centre. Hannah is very involved in St John’s Youth. Hannah also initiated a blood drive at Marsden for staff and senior students to give blood. Hannah took part in Relay for Life.
