Term 3 News

Week 10

The highlight of our final week was definitely Grandparents day, a very special day for Preschool when
Nellie's 93 year old Great Grandmother and Marsden Old Girl, Di Robertson came to visit. Di started at Fitzherbert Tce when she was 4 years old and stayed at Marsden until the age of 16. She remembers taking the tram to school and the chilly winter boarding in Marsden House at 15 while her parents were away. How awesome she could join us, and all our other wonderful Grandparents and special friends, especially those who travelled from out of Wellington, for a church service, concert and lunch. We loved having you here and the girls were so proud to show you their school. (3/10/2016)

Week 9
Dress Up Day for Cure Kids

Some pretty fantastic Disney animals roamed the grounds on 15 September for the Primary Council organised mufti day for Cure Kids. Together Primary and Preschool raised $673.70 - a super effort, but we couldn't have done it without generous contributions from Gipp St Butchery and New World Karori, thanks so much for your support. See more photos on our Facebook page.  (22/09/2016)

Week 6 and 7

There's a lot that happens when we look back at 2 weeks at our busy Marsden Preschool: Florentina's mother helped us celebrate Chinese Mooncake Festival (Autumn harvest festival) with green tea and mooncakes, we had spectactular weather, hail and snow, but that didn't stop  us having races with our new egg and spoon sets, we also have new screwdrivers at our carpentry table and some wonderful new puzzles. There was a spontaneous kapa haka, construction of roads, bridges and buildings as part of our exploration topic and a happy farewell to a student leaving to go to Marsden Primary, transitioning is nice and easy here. Week 5

An active week for Preschool who enjoyed a trip to Newtown with Capital Gym Sports and a rugby skills session with Rugby Tots. It was amazing to see our students trying the uneven bars, the balancing beam, the rings and the parallel bars as part of the awesome gymnastic set up. Then how well behaved they were as a group listening intently to all the instructions given for their rugby skills session. See more photos in the media gallery.  (31/08/2016)

Week 4

Continuing on with the Olympic theme this week Preschool students  tried hurdles outside on the courts, while inside at mat time they showed us where their families come from in the world. It was also lovely to  have their families join us for our once a term sausage sizzle. See more photos in the media gallery. (31/08/2016)

Weeks 2 and 3

Weeks 2 and 3 have been all about the Olympics for Preschool. They have painted a colourful Olympic banner, made Olympic flames from paper and cellophane and recreated the lighting ceremony. They have made Olympic rings with play dough, played all sorts of Olympic sports in the school gymnasium and even watched the real thing on the big screen in the iCentre. School Holiday Programme

During the third week of the July holidays we instigated a Preschool holiday programme as a response to our parent survey and it was a huge success with nearly all families availing themselves of this service. Students had a fabulous time, trying weaving, window painting, pizza making, group art and marbling but the big thrill was getting to play in the 'big kids' playground while the Primary students were away!
